Hiring Process
Thank you for your interest in the Health District!
We are a public agency of approximately 100 employees. Health District employees are committed to providing external and internal customers with consistent quality, accountability, integrity, respect and cultural sensitivity.
Here are a few specifics about the hiring process:
- Open positions are posted as they become available. We advertise in the Fort Collins Coloradoan newspaper on Wednesdays and/or Sundays and elsewhere as needed.
- A cover letter and resume are required per posted position.
- We do not hold application materials for future openings.
- Contact the search coordinator at the Health District to follow-up on the status of a search.
Application materials are forwarded to a search committee. This committee selects candidates to be interviewed. An Application for Employment form will be sent by e-mail or mail to all selected candidates to be interviewed. The applicant must complete this form and e-mail it back or bring it to the interview. Applicants who are not called for an interview are encouraged to apply for other open positions that they are interested in and are qualified for. Applicants will be notified by e-mail or letter when application materials are received and also when the search outcome is final.
Following the interviews, the search committee identifies the top candidate and notifies Human Resources (HR) to start the pre-employment process of criminal background checks and reference contacts. The time-frame for the pre-employment process can depend on various factors, such as return phone calls from references and processing time for background checks.
Once the pre-employment process is complete, the hiring manager contacts the candidate to offer the position. A letter of employment confirming the details of the hire is then e-mailed or mailed to the candidate. An employee orientation will be scheduled at the beginning of employment.
Benefits

Thank you for your interest in joining the Health District team. We wish you success in your job search!
